Annie Leibovitz

Factual: For this photo i was inspired by Vee Speers. I took this photo and also created it.

Context: In this photo we used one prop and that was the scissors. I used this to show how you may feel if you are being bullied.

Technique: This picture was taken with a Fuji camera. This camera has made the photo come out really well because as i put the flash on, it makes Carley's face lighter and have a slight glow to it.

Aesthetic: When i took this photo i was focusing on an emotional topic that occurs a lot with teenagers and that was self harm. Self harm does affect a lot of people in the U.K and also in other countries as well. I wanted people to be aware that when people say things to other people it will make them feel down. I decided to write 'Fat, Ugly, Useless and go die' on Carley's face because this is sometimes why some teenagers may self harm because they have been made to feel useless and worthless so that's why i have decided to show this in the photo. There are many reasons why people may self harm but it is mainly because they get bullied and are called names, this is why they may feel like the only way our is to hurt themselves. I used the scissors in this photo as my prop because i didn't want to go to deep into the subject because it can be a very sensitive topic for some. By placing the scissors up to her neck it kind of makes us think that maybe she has had enough and want to just give up now. As you can see Carley is looking down to the floor, we can see the hurt and pain in her eyes, which makes us think that maybe she is trying to think of what she has got to live for. This photo fits into Vee Speers photos because even thought it is an emotional topic, the photograph is also disturbing in some way. This photo by far is the most powerful one out of all 3 of them, because if you look into it with a lot of care then you will see that there is more than one aspect it may be showing us. If you are looking at this from the viewers point of view, then you can see that this photo is trying to show a lot of emotion and pain and that maybe they will understand what's going on in the teenagers life to upset them that much.

Factual: This photo was also taken by me. I was inspired by Vee Speers.

Context: This photo is different to the first one. i just used Carley and a camera i didn't need any props.

Technique: This photo was also taken by my Fuji camera. I am glad my photo turned out like this. I turned all the lights off and shut the curtains to make it dark, and then we shone a light onto the wall so that it was positioned to create a shadow behind Carley.

Aesthetic: I really like this because it shows everyone what teenagers can really feel like. I was trying to make it look like a teenager who feels alone and doesn't know who to turn too for help. As this photo is in the dark i think it really portrays this. People may have different opinions on what this photo may be trying to tell us, but what i was trying to get across is that some teenagers are alone and the shadow behind says a lot about the photograph, it shows how sometimes they can feel shadowed by certain people who may be troubling them. I took this photo to show how some teenagers really feel and what might be running through their mind.
Factual: This photo was taken by me. I was inspired by Vee  Speers.

Context: This photo is created differently to any other I have taken before. I didn't need to use any props because we improvised by using face paint to make Carley look like a Zombie.

Technique: This photo was taken with a Fuji camera. I took it with this camera because it shows the picture in clear colour and makes it look sharp and detailed. I am really pleased with how this photo  turned out. They were taken in Carley's bed room in front of the clear wall with the flash on to make her look more like a zombie.

Aesthetic: I really like this photo because i think it fits in well with Vee Speers. It is her kind of style. I like this photo because it has a main focus to it and that is Carley 'The zombie' I think that even though this photo is quite simple you have to study it a lot to understand its true aspects. I took a photo like this because its near Halloween and by taking this photo, it fits into the theme and also Vee's photography of the 'birthday party' When you look at this photo you automatically think of it as scary as its to do with Halloween.

Summary of Vee Speers

Style: Vee Spears photographs are quite different to each one of her series. Some of her photos are elegant and sweet like her '' whereas some of her photos of other people are dark and dangerous like the 'immortal series' but they have some lighting in it to give it some effect. Some of her photos are in black and white to give some of her photographs a nice effect and vary her work.

Technique: I think that in most of her photographs she has taken the photo and then edited it on a good software. I think that most of her photos are taken in a studio with good lighting behind them. In some photographs she may of added a back drop after taking the photo of the model.

Narrative: In everyone of Annie's Photos, there is a story behind every photo. In the 'Birthay Party series' all the photos are bright and everyone is normally looking happy. The backgrounds are colorful and brings everything to life. In her photos she is re-creating inspirational and wants to make you think that it could mean many different things.
